I do rejoice and marvel in the fact that last night we elected the nation's first African-American man for president! What a far cry this is from 100 years ago, no, just 50 years ago! I can't help but think that the fact that his skin is black must be an inspiration to so many... and I can't imagine how it must feel to an African-American to see someone of their own color to be in such a honored position. What a thrilling thing!
Yet, in the same sense, I felt as though his skin is the only thing that matters. Watching NBC last night, after they announced his victory, his skin color was the main topic - no, the ONLY topic. I wanted to yell at Brian Williams: "We all are rejoicing that he's black! But, let's get to his policies... his morals... his leadership...!!!"
What about the millions of unborn babies that will be murdered?
What about the socialist/Marxist government that Obama wants to implement?
What about the disrespect for the military and his lack of knowledge/experience in that area?
What about his lack of experience overall?
What about his many anti-American/terrorist "acquaintances" (friends)?
What about his wavering stance on our relationship with Israel?
This man is deeper than his black skin, and I'm afraid that America is simply judging a book by its cover. If Barack Obama's name was Bob Olson and he was just another white guy, with his exact same experiences and acquaintances and socialistic values, I doubt very highly he'd be where he is today. I feel a deep sense of sorrow and helplessness as I see America drifting farther and farther from its founding fathers and the morals that it was built on. I know that the Lord is in control. I know that this world is not my eternal home. Yet, I long for justice: justice for the unborn, justice for the extremists who want to harm our land and our freedom.
God help us as we have now chosen for our beloved country the most liberal and far-left congressman that has ever run for president.

Time for one more political plug...
- Hugo Chavez
- Rev. Jeremiah Wright
- William Ayers
- Fidel Castro
And now, today, the latest news is that an Iranian spokesperson says that Ahmadinejad wants Obama for the next president!!!! Is that not scary??
Obama's also laid down $2 million dollars for his "after I become president" celebrating party. Jeeze Louize! Does anybody else want to gag??
All the media is saying that "obviously Obama is going to win," but I think not. Vote! Vote! Vote! (And yet, while I'm going nuts here... I am reminded by a great article by John Piper on voting... read it here.)
*I am assuming my readers are somewhat like-minded with me. I know that is a big assumption. But, my blog = my opinions!*

Anyone up for a book club... before Nov. 4th??

This new book has just hit the stands and has the great potential to shed some light on this man who deems himself worthy to run our beloved country. Thoroughly researched by it's author, the book tells the story of the Obama's life. Here is a review of the book by a fellow reader:
"Mr. Corsi is the author of several books, including 'Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry' (along with John O'Neill), 'Black Gold Stranglehold: The Myth of Scarcity and the Politics of Oil' (along with Craig R. Smith), 'Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians,' and most recently, 'Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Borders.'
"And here he looks into Barack Obama's history, what little there is, and highlights how Obama's current rhetoric is hardly in sync with this man's past. As one of the most liberal US Senators and one who has been part of a "church" that seems more anti-American or more interested in wallowing in black resentment than worshiping God, Dr. Corsi isn't the only one wondering who Senator Obama really is. Obama's life is an interesting one, full of a number of achievements, but it is one that raises a number of questions about this man who is not far from occupying the Oval Office. In many ways, Senator Obama is an unknown quantity, well he is unknown for those who aren't interested in knowing anything about him. For some his rhetoric is more important than his deeds, beliefs, inclinations, history. Others who are interested in the latter would find this book by Dr. Corsi worthwhile, to see what an Obama White House might mean."
I just ordered the book off of Amazon for $15.40. It's also in bookstores for $28.00. I know many of my readers are Obama-fans. Please consider reading this potentially-highly influential book with me before you hit the polls. Let's know what we're getting ourselves into.

let's talk controversial politics
But this presidential campaign has caught my attention and won't let me go. Travis and I have been very attentive to all the candidates and I've found myself forgoing music in the car to instead listen to radio talk shows, such as NPR, Hannity, Rush Limbaugh (all conservative, I know).
I don't usually click on links that people post, just because it takes time and such. But this one, I encourage, URGE, you to listen to. There is so much more on this guy that raises red flags, in regards to the war, etc., but this one should speak to all people that value life.

The Primaries....
We sat down tonight, after a competitive evening playing cards (Three Up, Three Down; Kings in the Corner, etc.), to open our absentee ballots and vote! Travis' packet was correctly mailed, but mine says I'm not a registered Republican voter! :-( So, I have to send mine back in and re-register, or something like that. Now I'm on the computer posting pictures that Travis (a crazy-proud Californian) took. Notice he's wearing his Californian shirt while voting absentee for California - not a coincidence. He's proud to be an American, as we all should be.

Endorsement for Mike Huckabee as the right choice for conservatives
Please, take some time and read this article. I found it interesting, knowledgeable, and insightful. We need to stand up for what we believe to be true and Godly - even when it feels like we are such a small minority. I encourage you to begin NOW thinking and praying about who you will vote for next November.
